Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate
Area: Biogeochemistry
Research Summary: I am broadly interested in the interplay between the geosphere and the microbial biosphere. ‘No microbe is an island’, and therefore, disentangling the complexity of microbial community assembly and behavior is paramount to understanding microbe-environment interactions. I am particularly interested in characterizing the ways in which phylogenetic and functional diversity within microbial communities translate to specific biogeochemical functions. I use a diverse suit of tools from molecular ecology, phylogenetics, modeling, ‘omics and geochemistry to decipher these relationships.
I received both my Ph.D. in Earth System Science, and B.S. in Earth Systems from Stanford University, California.
